How is TMJ Treated?

Every patient is unique, and our dentist understands that. We want you to feel at ease while receiving TMJ treatment. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns so we can accommodate your needs.

Because everyone is different, not all treatment plans work for all patients. We may try several different treatment options to resolve your specific case of TMJ.

We may recommend a set of exercises to strengthen your jaw muscles. Medication can be prescribed to help you relax and stop clenching your jaw. We may also use medication to ease pain and inflammation.

Some patients also see success with night guards and bite plates. When you wear a night guard or bite plate, you will not grind and clench your teeth as often.

For some patients, TMJ can be resolved by fixing your bite. If your bite is uneven, jaw pain can be more common.

At Fall River Valley Dental, we offer a variety of dental services, including TMJ treatment. Dr. Zachary Pekar would be happy to help you treat and manage your TMJ symptoms so you can start living your life pain-free.
